Fertility Test in Women

Female infertility test a term which can be the most unpleasant sound for many of us. But before anything else we should know what infertility is. Infertility is 12months or more of unprotected intercourse without pregnancy.  There are mainly two types of infertility primary, were fertility problem occurs in a couple without any previous pregnancy. Secondary infertility where couple, have infertility problem after they have conceived, and had children in the past. Most of us are aware of that woman’s fertility declines from the age of 30 but most of us don’t know the cause for it. F.S.H (follicle stimulating hormone) is the major reason for the decline of fertility. This hormone maintains the function of ovaries and sex hormones and increase in it tends to reduce fertility.

There are a number of ways to test fertility levels. Some of them require medical assistance while some can be performed in home itself. Some test that can be done at home itself are,

  1. Basal Body Test: This test is mainly associated with the body temperature. In this test you are supposed to take reading of your body temperature every morning. Since when you are ovulating your body temperature gets raised slightly and you can keep an eye on whether you are regular or not.
  2. Ovulation Predictor: In this test you are suppose to urinate on a stick indicator. This indicator measures the Lutenizing hormone (LH) levels. This hormone increase during ovulation, so if there is no increase in hormone you are suffering from adulatory problem.

There is more female fertility test which requires medical assistance.

These tests can be basically done by two means, either by blood test or probing test. Day 3FSH test, day3 estrodial test and plasma progesterone level test is carried out in blood test where as in probing test endometrial biopsy, abdominal ultrasound, transvaginal ultrasound, sonohystogram, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, falloposcopy and hysterosalpingogram is done.
