Dry Scalp Home Remedies:
These days, many people are plagued with the problem of a dry scalp. The reasons for this problem are many, such as pollution, exposure to harmful chemicals, and exposure to sun. Use jojoba extract or oil to regulate the sebaceous glands, thereby restoring the sebum level on the scalp. The oil of jojoba is an excellent moisturizer. Tea tree oil is also a good option as it helps to relieve dandruff, which is a major consequence of dry scalp. Apply tea tree oil on your scalp to moisturize it and promote the growth of scalp cells and hair follicles. Another oil that is good for dry scalp is lavender oil; it helps to relieve dryness of both scalp and hair. You can also use lemon juice to relieve dandruff as well as lice.
Fenugreek seeds can also be used for treating dry scalp. Soak two tablespoon of fenugreek seeds overnight in water, and grind it into a fine paste in the morning. Apply this paste on your scalp for an hour, and then wash it off. Applying a paste of green gram powder and curd every week also helps to moisturize your scalp. You can also use plain curd for this purpose; massage your scalp with curd, every third day. Lime juice mixed with gooseberry juice can be massaged onto the scalp every night to moisturize it.
Beet root is also known to be effective cure for dry scalp. Boil in water, and apply the extract on your scalp every night, before going to bed. You can also apply the juice of snake gourd to treat the dryness of scalp. Another effective remedy is to dilute cider vinegar with an equal quantity of water, and dab the solution on to your hair while shampooing.
Other than these home remedies, it is best to eat a well-balanced, highly nutritious diet so as to regulate the sebaceous glands, thereby treating the cause of the affliction.
