Drug Induced Erectile Dysfunction:

The inability of a man in achieving or maintaining an erection is referred to as erectile dysfunction. It is also known as male impotence and can result due to various causes. This condition usually occurs as a man becomes older. There are a few occurrences of this condition in men below the age of forty years also. Many conditions such as diabetes or mental depression can result in erectile dysfunction. Intake of drugs could be one of the causes. There are various drugs that can give rise to this problem. Drug abuse involving cocaine, heroin and other narcotic drugs can bring about this condition. Use of alcohol and cigarette smoking can also have this effect in men. A drug administered for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcers, called cimetidine is known to cause erection problems. Diuretics used to regulate high blood pressure, heart disease and edema in the legs have also been found to cause erectile dysfunction. Other types of high blood pressure medications called beta blockers and medications for treating depression, psychosis and certain sedatives can also result in erectile dysfunction. Another drug known to cause this condition is finasteride which is used in the treatment of prostate cancer and in preventing balding.

There are many other drugs that can also cause erectile dysfunction. However, this does not take place in all men and some men never experience this problem when taking such drugs. But for some men, the ability to achieve an erection is completely diminished. If the problem starts occurring soon after starting on a new medication or drug, then in all likelihood the drug is responsible for the condition. In some cases months may pass while taking the drug and it is only later on that erectile dysfunction begins to occur. Before discontinuing the drug or medication, one must consult the doctor as this could have a negative effect on the condition that is being treated. In some cases, the drug can be substituted by another drug that is not known to cause erectile dysfunction. When the drug intake is stopped, the ability to have and maintain an erection will return soon. However if the erectile dysfunction persists, then other causes need to be examined.

In cases where the erectile dysfunction is caused by drug abuse or alcohol abuse, then it is most important to stop intake of these substances. This will not only solve the problem of erectile dysfunction but will also prevent far more serious health problems. Very long term abuse of these substances may result in erectile dysfunction throughout the lifetime of the individual. One needs to consult and discuss the condition with the doctor so that the right course of treatment can be prescribed.

Hives Remedies

The technical term for the phenomenon of hives is urticaria. This is a common skin disorder, and usually it is only uncomfortable and itchy not really dangerous. Hives causes pain, itchiness, and swelling that can get worse if not treated promptly. One gets hives when a part of the body is exposed to an allergen. Our body contains chemicals called histamines. Histamines are released when you come in contact with the allergen, causing red ring like blotches all over the body. These blotches start to swell and itch and can cause severe discomfort if un-treated. However, you don’t have to be allergic to anything in particular to develop hives. Non allergic reactions can also cause you to develop hives.

Hives could be of any size depending on the seriousness of the illness. Wheals and welts can appear all over the body and can be excruciatingly itchy and painful. They can appear for a just a few minutes or can last for hours. They also have a tendency to appear and reappear every few minutes or hours, if untreated with an appropriate anti allergic medication.

When suffering from this skin condition one may also experience a difficulty in breathing normally. Sometimes it can also be hard to swallow. Hives can also become a serious problem because the resulting level of anxiety causes your heart to beat irregularly. If not controlled, it can lead to a feeling of dizziness or even a loss of consciousness.

The most important remedy for a person with hives is avoidance of the triggers or allergens. Hives is not always caused by complex or dangerous substances or reasons. An attack can be triggered by an allergy to something as simple as eggs, nuts, or a medication prescribed by your doctor. Some people even have allergic reactions to certain metals used in jewelry or fabrics used in clothes. In short, hives can be a result of anything. You need to find out what your allergens are and then make it a point to avoid them. If you are unable to do this on your own, you must consult an allergist.

In rare cases, avoidance, or even detection may be impossible. In this case, home remedies can be used to treat the itching and discomfort. A cold compress is usually the best remedy. However, make sure you don’t have abnormal sensitivity to cold temperatures. A massage to the trapezium muscle that is located between your neck and shoulder can also relieve the pain and swelling caused by hives.

Heel Spurs

Heel spurs, also medically known as plantar fasciitis, happen when the heel bone experiences abnormal growth. The heel bone is the largest bone in our feet and it helps absorb the pressure of our entire body weight. Heel spurs usually cause a stabbing pain the first time you stand on your legs in the morning. The pain may also come after walking a long distance or standing for a prolonged period of time. Along with the pain you will also experience swelling, inflammation, and numbness in your heels. Heel spur is commonly seen among athletes, pregnant women, and overweight people. It can also occur if a person uses ill-fitting footwear. Heel spurs may become quite painful and difficult to manage, in which case you will need to consult a doctor and undergo medical treatment. Medications, physical therapies, and surgical procedures may be required to manage heel spurs. Meanwhile, before starting off with medical treatments you can also follow certain measures to deal with the problem on your own.

• Rest your feet when the pain is severe. Avoid putting too much stress on your feet by jogging or standing for a long time.

• Apply an ice pack for about 10-15 minutes to relieve the pain. You can use ice packs 3-4 times a day or even more depending on the frequency and severity of the pain.

• Wear shoes that have a padded support for the heels. Do not wear high-heeled shoes as they increase the pressure on your heel.

There are also a few basic exercises that you may try out at home. These exercises are easy to do and are described below:

• Sit on the floor with your legs stretched out in front of you, try to hold your toes with your hand, and start pulling them towards you.

• Keep your arms outstretched and lean against a wall. Put your right foot forward so that it comes directly under your outstretched arms. Place your left foot further behind so that it is behind your leaning body. Keep the heel of your left foot flat on the ground and bend the knee of your right foot forward without lifting it from the ground. You will start to feel a stretching sensation along your left foot. Stay in this position for at least 10 seconds. Repeat the exercise by altering the positions of your legs.

• Stand on the edge of a staircase step (or a sturdy stool) and standing on your toes dip one of your heels as far down as you possibly can. Stay in that position for about 10 seconds and then repeat with the other leg. Remember to support yourself by holding on to something when you do this exercise.

If you are male, you need to be aware that what sometime may appear as a wart on your genitals, are actually they way they are shaped! You need to figure out if these eruptions have appeared recently or they have been around for a while. If they are not recent, then you can get them medically examined by a doctor and determine exactly what they are. You have not provided any descriptions to be precise about it. There are possibilities that they may also be something other than warts. All you would have to do is get this determined, and then you can go about treating your warts quite easily and effectively. Since the genitals are a sensitive area, you need to be particularly careful what remedy you use for this area. For all applicable remedial measures, please do a patch test before you begin. This means you should apply the remedy you want to apply on your wart to the inner part of your elbow or wrist before you use it on your genitals. Wait for a full day before you determine any results. It is possible that your skin may erupt in rashes within a day and this should be detrimental enough for you to not use these methods for your genitals.

At this stage, your best bet would also be to use homeopathic treatment to get rid of warts for good. All the topical application methods suggested here will definitely work to make your warts fall off. But none of them can guarantee that the same warts will not reappear. Homeopathic treatment is the only kind that provides a guarantee about the warts not appearing again. However, these can sometimes take months to show positive results. Make sure you consult a good doctor to begin with. You should be given treatment in accordance with your body type for permanent and excellent results. To get rid of them within a week or so, you can start applying castor oil to the warts. After they are completely covered with the oil, you can apply bandages to them to keep the oil from getting rubbed off. This way, your warts should go away within a week or two. You can also try to apply a mixture of white chalk powder and water to your warts. This will also help to erode your warts quite effectively. Just keep in mind that these methods may also be slightly painful.
