Home remedies for GERD
  • Drink buttermilk or sip on coconut water every 1 or 2 hours during the day.
  • Add 1 tsp of the juice of ginger roots and/or 1 tsp of lemon juice in 1 glass of warm water and drink it 2 to 3 times a day.
  • Boil 1 tsp of cumin seeds or some peeled and grated ginger in 1 glass of water for 5 to 7 minutes, strain it and drink it thrice daily. You can even add common salt or black pepper powder to it. You can replace grated ginger roots with 1 tsp of ginger juice but add it after filtering the liquid.
  • Soak some peeled ginger roots in lemon juice for an hour and chew on them after your meals.
  • Take 1 tsp of ginger juice with 1 tsp of honey.
  • Drink 1 cup of chilled skim milk every 1 or 2 hours.
  • Have lots of lemon juice with honey, almonds and cloves as they are effective in curing GERD.
  • Take ginger capsule or have ginger tea everyday.
  • Having green tea or herbal tea after your meals will be very helpful in providing relief.
  • Add 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar to 1 glass of water and sip it with your meals.
  • Keep an apple with you to eat when you feel the acid reflux.
