This is a condition in which groups of cells in the body seem to show signs of uncontrolled growth and division, invasion and destruction of surrounding tissues and at times may spread to other regions of the body through the blood or lymph. These malignant traits of cancers are what distinguish and separate them from benign tumours.

Benign tumours are self limited, non invasive and do not metastasize. Although most types of cancer form tumours, some do not.
While there have been significant advancements in the treatment of cancer and there are a lot more options available to patients conventional treatment still does pose a number of problems owing to the side effects and at times uncertain outcome.

Treatment is at best risky, with no guarantee for an effective cure, but with definite side effects. Conventional treatment for cancer generally involves surgical removal of the tumour, which is usually followed by chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormonal or oral chemotherapy.

For this natural cancer fighting remedies are the best.
Many cancer patients and some practitioners as well are beginning to realize that supplementing conventional treatments with alternative medicines can be very beneficial.  Alternative medicine is particularly useful to patients who can not continue with chemotherapy, due to the advancement of their cancer or in cases where conventional approaches are ineffective.

Complementary and alternative medicine is a body of diverse medical and health care approaches that are outside of and not a part of conventional medical practice. Complementary medicine and alternative medicine are closely related and follow similar approaches but their application is quite different.

Both cancer alternative medicine and cancer complimentary medicine advocate cancer natural medicine. While complimentary medicine is used in conjunction with conventional medicine, alternative medicine is used as a substitute for conventional medicine.
The most common and widespread of natural cancer fighting remedies would include
  • The use of herbs or herbal therapies, to strengthen the body's natural ability to fight cancer cells.
  • The use of counselling, hypnosis or other similar methods that stress the importance of emotional and spiritual health to promote healing.
  • The use of metabolic therapies that include detoxification, anticancer diets, and enzymes to cleanse the body, repair tissues that are damaged and stimulate and boost the immune system.
  • The use of immunology therapies that aim to strengthen areas of the immune system that fight and destroy cancerous cells.
While conventional approaches to treating cancer have been closely scrutinized for safety and effectiveness, little is known about the effectiveness of both complementary and alternative methods. Some of these cancer fighting remedies have in the past been studied carefully and some are even accepted in conventional medicine if not as cures then as effective complimentary treatment helping patients with recovery and healing.
