Colon Liver Cleansing

Posted in Category : Natural Cures

Colon refers to the last portion of the human digestive system while liver is a vital organ in a number of body processes such as detoxification and protein synthesis. Since the solid and liquid excreta produced in our bodies pass through these organs, it is understood that they are involved in filtering the excreta. Hence, it is extremely important to cleanse these organs so as to keep your body free of unwanted toxins which can cause abdominal pain, constipation etc. There are various medical processes that help you meet this end, however in the case of colon and liver cleansing, a doctor’s help is not the only option. There are a number of home remedies which you can use in order to cleanse your liver and colon effectively.

One has to start with the diet. Eating the right kind of foods in the right proportion will help in cleansing your liver and colon. Fiber is a must, and consumption of at least 30 grams on a daily basis is advised. This fiber can be taken in the form of food, or dissolved in water. The next important step is drinking a lot of water. Drink large quantities at frequent and regular intervals. The water consumed must be proportionate to the weight of the person, half the weight in ounces to be precise. For example, a person weighing 120 pounds must drink at least 60 ounces of water everyday. This has to be pure, non-carbonated water. This goes a long way in cleansing your liver. Then there a number of herbs you can use to further aid the process. Aloe Vera and ginger would take top spot here. Make a juice of Aloe Vera in water and drink it 2 to 3 times a day. Include ginger in your diet. Drinking ginger tea, essentially ginger boiled in water, will also help in cleansing your colon efficiently. Avoid using tea leaves in the tea as it will only aggravate the presence of toxins in the body. Alternately, keep chewing on a small piece of ginger throughout the day.

Fennel leaves and garlic are other home remedies that can be used to tackle this situation. Their advantage is that these herbs have a purifying effect on the colon by killing the harmful bacteria that are present in it. Throughout the course of cleansing, make sure your diet is well supplemented with fiber in the form of foods like wheat germ, oat etc. Most importantly, strictly avoid caffeine, sugar, hydrogenated fat and deep fried foods.
