Many claimed that causes of hair loss in men are inherited from the mother’s side. Definitely not, not only from the mother’s side, it can be inherited from the father’s side as well. The x-chromosome factors influenced hair loss giving a slight importance on the inheritance from the mother’s side than the father’s side.
Genes, hormones and age are the three factors identified which causes the Androgenic alopecia. Common baldness will not exist if not because of the existence of inherited genes. These genes can be inherited from either parent. Humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes and each individual inherits one set of chromosomes from both parents. In hair loss, more than one gene gets involved.
Hormone, a chemical secreted by an endocrine gland that regulates the function of a specific tissue or organ. Causes of hair loss in men has been linked to the male sex hormone, testosterone. An identical twin has been studied to prove this theory. A bald one and a mentally ill but not bald. The doctor decides to inject the hairy twin with testosterone and within weeks, the one injected starts to lose his hair. The Doctor ceased injecting testosterone expecting to reverse the process but it didn’t. The balding continues and thCauses of he person never recovered his hair. It is clear that eliminating testosterone slows or stops hair loss but it will never renew dead follicles.
Though genes and hormones are linked to the causes of hair loss in men, they are not adequate enough to cause baldness. Age is a factor that has been poorly understood. We all know that hair loss doesn’t happen in an instant, it gradually develops. There are still unknown factors speeding up or slowing down hair loss process. But as what most of us know, when one gets older, hairs definitely decreases in volume.
