Home Remedies For Acne Redness, Pimples And Scars

Posted in Category : Natural Cures

Acne vulgaris, or simply acne, is a collective term used to refer to pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, pustules, papules, cysts, and nodules. While acne is predominant among adolescents and teenagers, it can also affect older people. Acne pimples are a result of imbalances in testosterone and natural body oils. Other factors that can result in an outbreak of pimples are stress, psychological disorders, medication, and irregular eating and living habits.

Home Remedies

There are many home remedies that can relieve this embarrassing problem. The most effective remedy against acne pimple involves the use of lemon juice. It acts as an astringent, therefore drying the pimples or zits. It reduces redness as well as heals and improves the skin tone. You can apply lemon juice on the pimples and leave them overnight. Since lemon juice can be harsh on sensitive skin, in such instances, it should be mixed with honey or yogurt and then applied on the face. This can be washed off after 20 minutes, once it has cleansed and closed the clogged pores. You could also drink one or two glasses of lemon juice everyday to clear toxins from the body.

Aloe vera gel is an excellent cure for acne with its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It may be used internally to detoxify the digestive tract, thereby helping in clearing the skin. Vitamins A and E supplements, or foods rich in these vitamins are good in order to maintain a healthy, acne-free skin.

Zinc, vitamins A, B and E, thyme, and tea tree oil are effective weapons against acne. A mix of honey and cinnamon powder is also very effective in curing acne. Apply fresh ground garlic cloves on the pimples to remove them completely without any scar. Strawberry leaves can be placed on the pimple spots to reduce swelling. Cucumber paste can also be used to reduce swelling and restore the skin tone. Sandalwood powder mixed in rose water is extremely effective in soothing the skin and removing excess oils from it.

Oatmeal paste can be used as a scrub to clear acne. You can make the paste by adding yogurt to it. Tomato pulp mixed with honey and lemon juice is also an excellent remedy for acne. You could also try steaming with a few drops of essential oils of lavender or rosemary.

Avoid foods that trigger acne pimples, instead eat plenty of vegetables and fruits to keep the body and skin healthy and glowing. Do not touch your face often; also, rinse with cold water every few hours throughout the day. It is best to avoid make-up and harsh cosmetics, and be as natural as possible.
