Causes and remedies of constipation and anal bleeding



Irregular bowel movements or pain while passing stools is referred to as constipation. Smoking, poor fiber in the diet, drug abuse and excessive consumption of tea and coffee are the contributing factors of constipation. A glass of warm milk before going to bed proves beneficial. Lemon juice with warm water eases bowel movement. Anal bleeding indicates the presence of piles or anal fissure. Splitting of the anal skin, mostly in the back region is an anal fissure. Causes of anal bleeding are polyps, constipation, inflammatory bowel disease, piles, infection and diverticulitis. Bowel movements are painful, with the feel of a glass cutting through. Faeces are kept soft by regular exercise and proper eating behavior. Pain killer ointments are equally helpful, as they reduce anal spasm. A warm bath with salt is an effective remedy for anal fissures. Hard bowel movement creates a lot of pain. Occurrence of a small lump, alongside the crack is seen. This is termed as a skin tag. A bout of constipation results in anal fissure. It is also seen after childbirth. Gels containing glyceryl trinitrate helps in curbing pain. Injections of botulinum toxin prove beneficial. Surgery is a permanent technique of treatment, devoid of recurrence.
