Kundalini Yoga signifies serpent power and is symbolized by two snakes coiling around a central column, which is the symbol of western medicine. It stresses the role of spine and focuses on Nadis or Chakra system. The aim is to achieve control over mind and body through intense meditation and rigorous breathing exercises. There are various books, DVDs, Meditation and Mantra CDs, Yogi Tea, Mats and other products available. There are various Kundalini Yoga centers which provide yoga courses for teacher training development across the world.

The practice of Kundalini Yoga has started recently in the west. Yogi Bhajan found 3HO (Healthy, Happy and Holy Organization), to introduce this form of yoga to the western world. He started teaching Kundalini Yoga to the public which was not done previously. A Kundalini Yoga class starts with warm up exercises to stretch the spine which is followed by a series of poses or Kriya focusing on particular parts of the body. Then follows meditating, chanting of mantras, performing Pranayama and acquiring different postures. The students are required to wear white robes and white head clothes.

Kundalini Yoga is the most powerful Yoga of all and it requires a lot of hard work to attain perfection. This form of Yoga follows the dictum that there is latent power in all of us and it can only be realized through elevation of the spirit. There are online courses available for the beginners as well as students from other schools of yoga. To get Kundalini yoga certification a student can enroll into any of the registered Kundalini Yoga institute. After successful completion of the course, students get certification and they go on to teach others. There are various workshops and short term courses held to teach Kunadalini Yoga all over the world. It is also taught to the general public to regain and maintain their health and fitness.
