Yoga to improve eye sight

Try the following simple eye exercises to relax your eyes. These shall be more helpful if you do it at the end of other yogic exercises.

  1. Rub your palms vigorously and place them on your eyes gently, not putting any pressure on the eye balls. The warmth from the palms will relax the nerves in the eyes and help in blood circulation; this would be especially helpful when you take short breaks from reading. Make sure to keep your eyes closed inside so that minimal light passes through your palms.
  2. Eye stretching. Move both your eye in upward direction and then downward direction. Blink them quickly to relax the eye muscles.
  3. Shut your eyes and rotate them in all the directions slowly and steadily concentrating on one eye at a time.
  4. Sun bathe your eyes; however avoid looking directly in the sun. Let your eyes be the focus while performing this exercise. Look both sides, up to down, diagonally and try to stretch your eyes to allow more sunlight in your eye.
  5. Along with following these exercises regularly enrich y our diet with vitamin A and beta carotene in the form of carrots, turnips, dark green leafy vegetables, mango, papaya and orange.

All these exercises when performed several times a day will also help to improve your vision.
