Symptoms of Stomach Cancer

There may not be any signs of stomach cancer in the early stages of the disease. However as the condition progresses, the signs and symptoms of stomach cancer include:

  • Poor overall health
  • Loss of appetite
  • Pain in the abdomen
  • Feeling of fullness in the abdomen
  • Swollen abdomen
  • Dark colored stools
  • Blood in the stool
  • Changes in bowel habits
  • Difficulty swallowing (which gets worse over time)
  • Continuous belching
  • Persistent nausea and vomiting
  • Vomit may contain blood
  • Feeling of premature fullness soon after eating
  • Weakness
  • Fatigue
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Heartburn
  • Indigestion
  • Ulcer-like symptoms
There is no single symptom or group of symptoms that can determine whether it is stomach cancer or not. Since many of the symptoms can be confused with those of other problems related to the digestive system, it is important that you are tested further and a timely diagnosis is reached as soon as possible.
