SAFE remedy

suggested by NothingWorkedUntilNeem on Monday, November 27, 2006

My gradeschool daughter has very long, beautiful hair. Her class had lice for 3 months straight. I tried over the counter products that just burned her scalp and made her irritated head hurt more. Nothing worked until I found Margosa shampoo. Margosa is a safe and natural insecticide for all kinds of pests. Being natural, Margosa has NO side effects, aids in healing, and it protects long after the hair is dry. It comes in shampoo, conditioner, oil, leaaves, capsules, soap, cream and possibly more. I realize the shampoo and conditioner are pricey, but you'll get many uses out of it without the worry of a skin reaction. Leave Margosa shampoo in hair for 5-7 minutes. Rinse. Use Margosa conditioner or cream if desired. Get a flea comb from your local pet supply store and comb through wet hair, which will comb out all dead lice and nits. Repeat at least every 7 days until the threat at school has been eliminated. For added insurance, do the following (although I only did this after the first shampoo): Just like you throw infected coats, bedding and other articles in your dryer to kill lice, use a blow dryer on hair roots at highest heat tollerable. For added protection between shampoos, fill a spray bottle with water and a little Margosa product, shake well, and spray on hair before your child goes off to school. Best wishes!

Put gel or hairspray in child's hair everymorning before they go out. The lice has nothing to stick to when this is done.

Lice and how to keep them away

suggested by Anna on Sunday, November 19, 2006

My daughter got lice twice while in nursery school. Then an old lady told me to just rub some red wine vinegar in my hands everyday and run my hands thru my kid's hair each morning before she went to school, especially at the nape of the neck. She never got lice again! It smells only for the first few minutes, then smell disintegrates.

Lice Remedy

I have been struggling with these pests for a while and decided to create my own. I used apple cider vinegar with some veggie oil, and a couple table spoons of garlic powder....remember, I was desperate. I covered my daughters head in this then wrapped in seran wrap for 2 hours. I washed her hair out with dish soap and then she played in the tub, when the water was drained there were dead lice in the bottom of the tub as well as still in her hair. I then dried her hair and sprayed down with white vinegar and combed through with metal lice comb. I will repeat in 7-10 days as well as use medicated Denorex Extra strength shampoo every few days. This stinks, so be prepared, but its cheap and worked for me and I've tried a lot. Good Luck!

lice treatment

Lice can hold their breath so it's best to leave the oil on the hair for 24 hours. Olive oil works best. You can even buy it in a spray can for easier applying. If you do have to opt for chemicals, buy dog flea and tick shampoo with permithrin(spelling) leave on 5 minutes then use like regular shampoo for 1 week and comb hair often. I often use one during conditioning and vineager works to loosen the nits glue.

"Cheapest & Best" lice removal remedy

suggested by lilia on Monday, October 23, 2006

Lice are tiny insects that dwell in the hair. These tiny creatures need air to survive so the best way to remove is to smother. Best and Cheapest way I found to smother is to purchase a hair conditioner (cheap one does fine) and work thourhly into child/adults hair leaving on for at least five minutes. This will smother lice. Repeat this at least once a week because lice have probably left eggs in hair that will open within a week. repeat as often as you feel necessary and you will not have to cut hair or buy expensive hair/lice treatments. Have a Blessed day...Lilia Estrada
