we discovered this the hard way. We fought the lice for 2 months with over the counter remedies out of desperation we tried turpentine, understand it will burn. What you need to do is figure a way to keep it away from the ears. put it on the head by massaging it into the hair at the root. leave it on at least 20-30 minutes. do this about every couples of days till you are sure they are gone. REMEMBER: Keep it away from the ears, we wrapped the ear to protect them. Then wash the hair as usual. Wash and treat bed cloths and any where else they might be. Salt on the carpet works to kill them too.
