If you want to reclaim your youth and sport a healthy glowing complexion, try out some simple and easy home remedies that can do the job…

Home Remedies for Healthy Skin

No matter whether you have oily, dry, or combination skin, try out these natural face packs to get a healthy glowing complexion:

For Normal Skin

  • Juice half an orange or a tomato and mix in two teaspoons of yoghurt. Massage this mix into the skin with gentle upward strokes. Let the pack dry on the skin before rinsing it off with cool water
  • Grate and juice one carrot. Apply the juice all over your face and let it dry before washing off. This is an ideal pack to revitalize tired looking skin and get it glowing again

For Oily Skin

  • Make a thick paste of whole-wheat flour and water. Massage the paste on to your face and leave to dry. Wash and pat dry. This helps remove any excess oil from the skin and reduces the pore size
  • Peel and grate a cucumber and apply the juice to your skin. Cucumber juice is an excellent cleanser and works as a natural astringent on oily skin

For Dry Skin

  • Mash a ripe banana along with a teaspoon of honey to make a face pack for dry skin. The banana acts as a moisturizer for dry skin and the honey helps prevent wrinkles and lines
  • Massage your face with two tablespoon of boiled and cooled milk to moisturize skin naturally and keep it supple. Add a pinch of salt to the milk in case you suffer from pimples and blemishes

Some more easy ways to get glowing skin:

  • For a quick fix, rub an ice cube over your face to tighten skin and improve blood circulation. This also helps close large pores and prevents the build up of oil and grime that may result in acne and problem skin
  • Rub a piece of fresh papaya on your face for an instant glow
  • Cleanse your skin from within with an easy detox juice. Simply mix the juice of half a lemon in a glass of freshly squeezed tomato juice. To this mix add a handful of crushed mint leaves and some black salt to taste. Drink this first thing in the morning to detox the body and get glowing healthy skin
  • Always protect your skin from the sun and wear a sunscreen whenever you step out
  • A facial massage using oils that suit your skin type is an excellent way to rejuvenate the appearance of your skin and keep it moisturized and soft. Oils such as olive oil, almond oil, tea tree oil, coconut oil, grape seed oil, and wheat germ oil are all great for the skin. Consult with a dermatologist to find out what best suits your particular skin type and complexion

Your diet plays a major role in the appearance of your skin. To keep your skin glowing and fresh, you should:

  • Keep yourself hydrated and drink eight to ten glasses of water a day
  • Avoid fried foods, oily foods, junk food and over processed foods
  • Stay away from sugar and candy
  • Increase your intake of fresh fruit and vegetables. Freshly squeezed juices are especially effective for healthy skin
  • The best foods for glowing skin are blueberries, dark chocolate, walnuts, salmon and green tea

If you have sensitive skin or are prone to skin breakouts, always check with a dermatologist before you try out any natural or home remedy option.
