Colon therapy or what we better know as colon cleansing is a collection of various alternative therapies that remove the fecal and toxic material from the colon or the large intestines. There are many different methods for cleansing the colon. Colonic irrigation or colon hydrotherapy and herbal cleansing regimens are the most popular colon cleansing routines.




The following are the methods used for colon cleansing:
  • Enema. In an enema, liquid is inserted into the rectum. This is easy to do and hence is popular among those who do a colon cleanse at home. The only disadvantage with this method is that it cleanses only the lower part of the digestive system.
  • Colonic Hydrotherapy. This is basically an internal bath routine in which the entire colon is rinsed. This involves medical intervention and is done by a doctor using some special instruments.
  • Herbal or Powder Supplements. Today, because of the popularity of colon cleansing, commercially produced powders and herbal remedies are available. These supplements enhance the functioning of the digestive system, improve bowel movement, and also relieve you of constipation.
If done correctly, colon cleansing is a safe way to ensure the health of your digestive system. Although some doctors suggest that the cleansing of the colon is not really necessary, there are others who believe that it has a lot of benefits. Studies conducted on this subject have reported that cleansing of the colon has various benefits, some of which include elimination and prevention of constipation, improvement of skin texture, elevated levels of energy, improved digestive health, and general well-being.
Following are some of the home remedies that you can use for cleansing your colon.
  • Take some water and add sea or Epsom salt to it. Now heat this up and pour this into a glass. Drink it up quickly in a single sitting. This may cause you to have loose stools for a day or two. Unfortunately, this salt flush might also end up flushing the friendly bacteria from your stomach. Therefore it is best to eat some probiotic foods after the flush to regain the bacteria.
  • Fresh vegetable juices can also help in improving the overall health of an individual. These juices can also help you clean your colon. Simply extract the juice of some green leafy vegetables and drink it with your normal food.
  • In a glass of clean water, add two tablespoons each of lemon juice and maple syrup. Now add a pinch of cayenne pepper and mix well. Drink this solution about 6 to 7 times a day. Do not have anything else to eat in the entire day.

Health advice on colon cleansing -

1.Take salt water  2 glasses of warm water with 2 pinches of salt in

each .Drink it on empty stomach in the morning.

2.Or Take castor oil 1 tsp in milk  once in a month .
