My daughter is 9 weeks old and is having trouble with constipation. I have been told that I can give her Karo Syrup with her bottle. Is this true and if so, how much should she be given?

Please do not give her corn syrup.  This is one of the worst things to assault her immune system at such an early age.  Find some infant human prodophilus and acidophilus formula which can be put in her bottle or on her lips.   You may also consider she may have some food sensitivities to the formula to which she is being given.  Consider goat's milk with some extra Vitamin B if this is the case.      http://www.countrydoc.com

If you are breast-feeding your baby constipation is usually the result of wrong feeding on the part of the mother, and it must be corrected. The baby should be kept on water and orange .juice for a day, and small enema of warm water given.

In the alternative, a glycerine suppository may be applied. Laxative should be avoided as far as possible. This also works if the baby is artificially fed, the cause is wrong feeding, and this should be rectified.

A spoonful of honey in warm water will aid as well, karo syrup is used to help a baby drink water without choking.
