Dietary tips for bloating

Gastritis is inflammation of the mucus membrane lining of the stomach. It can cause vomiting, loss of appetite, bloating and a host of other abdominal problems.

Here are some home remedies for gastritis:

  • Make an infusion of peach leaves by pouring boling water over peach leaves and setting it aside for ten minute.

Drink this tea 2-3 times a day
  • Eat figs or drink warm water in which figs have been soaked
  • Licorice root tea taken 3 times a day will also help.
  • A turmeric extract called curcumin is helpful with generalized inflammation
  • An infusion made with guava leaves can be taken 2-3 times a day

And here are some ways to reduce bloating:

  • Get moderate amounts of exercise. Whenever you start to feel a little bloated, try not to lie down.

Walk around for half an hour instead.
  • Reduce the intake of foods that produce gas such as vegetables of the cabbage family and dairy products.
  • Do not wear tight clothes in the abdominal region. Wear loose fitting cotton undergarments. Tight clothes cause gas to be trapped in the abdomen
  • Restrict the intake of fizzy drinks and drink all beverages straight from the glass instead of with a straw. With a straw you risk swallowing too much air.

On the whole maintain a healthy diet and reduce stress levels by using breathing techniques or meditation.
