Health advice on parkinsons disease

I want to know the home remedies for parkinsons disease.

Parkinson's Disease, is a condition that generally affects those over the age of fifty. The disease is characterized by a movement disorder and it is familiar to a large number of people due to its very distinctive symptoms. One of the most apparent symptoms of this chronic condition is hand tremors, which indicate the beginning stages of Parkinson's disease.

This is both a chronic and progressive condition that currently has no cure; however a large number of treatments are available that can help in managing the disease, by slowing down its progress. Parkinson's disease is brought about due to damage caused to the brain cells that are responsible for producing and transmitting dopamine.  If over eighty percent of these particular cells get damaged, an individual will develop this condition. This is simply because the person's muscles begin to lack this very important chemical. In the absence of dopamine, the muscles are unable to move smoothly and the body faces a difficulty while coordinating muscle movements.

Along with the tremors that are associated with this particular condition, Parkinson's may also manifest itself in the form of slurred speech, poor balance, slow movements, loss of reflexes, rigid or stiff movements, shuffling gait, cramped handwriting and a difficulty while swallowing. Additionally patients could also experience sleep disorders and depression. What causes this disease has not been precisely determined as yet, however certain theories have been laid down. Genetics, drug abuse, severe trauma to the head and prolonged exposure to certain types of toxins are all said to contribute to the development of this condition.

Unfortunately home remedies cannot help in treating this condition; however, maintaining a healthy diet could certainly assist in keeping it under control. The patient should consume plenty of fresh fruits such as oranges, grapes, papayas, peaches and apples, as they will help in providing energy. Green leafed vegetables should also be incorporated into the daily diet. Vegetable and fruit juices such as cabbage, carrot, spinach, orange, pineapple and apple should be mixed with water in equal quantities (ration of 1:1). This has to be had by the individual everyday. It will prove beneficial in stimulating bowel movements. Raw milk, sprouts, raw seeds, grains and nuts will also prove beneficial. Foods that need to be avoided would include all kinds of processed and tinned foods, spices, salt, caffeine and tea. All in all a person suffering from this condition will require a lot of care and moral support.

Health advice on parkinsons disease

Parkinson's disease results from damage to the nerves in the area of the brain responsible for controlling muscle tension and movement — the basal ganglia. A patient affected by Parkinson's disease should be helped and encouraged to maintain a stable and positive mental attitude and also lead an active life as much as possible.

Exercise, preferably walking, goes a long way in improving the patient's health. There is no home remedy to cure the disease, but the patient's diet plays an important role in controlling it. A daily consumption of fresh fruit or vegetable juices like apple, pineapple, orange, spinach, carrot or cabbage, diluted in water on a ratio of 1:1 should be provided to the patient. This helps stimulate bowel movement and provides several other health benefits. The patient should also consume fresh fruits, such as apple, peach, papaya, grapes, and orange, as they provide energy without an excess of protein. You should also rely on nuts and grains, raw seeds, , sprouts, raw milk ( goat's milk is preferable) and vegetables. Green leafy vegetables and yellow turnips are very helpful.

On the whole, a low protein diet of organic foods that are uncooked is best for the patient. The patient should preferably not consume tea, caffeine, salt, spices or condiments, and avoid all tinned and processed foods. These are however only general health measures and you should consult your doctor as medical drug treatment is eventually required to cure or treat the patient.
