Steam burns remedies

Burns caused by steam are usually severe and lead to instant reddening of skin and formation of large water-filled blisters. The first thing to do is arrest the intensity of the burn and prevent it from going deeper into your skin. Run chilled water on the burn immediately.

This is the best way to stop the burn from turning within and causing further damage. The most effective remedy for such burns is to leave them alone and let time take care of the problem. However, if they run deeper than the surface, apply aloe vera gel to them.

This will provide cooling relief and soothe and heal burns simultaneously. If you can get this gel fresh, it will always work better as opposed to gel taken out of a tube. Spirulina is also one herb that is considered magical in healing burns. Take this internally, where it will show maximum results. Mash an over-ripe banana and pour a couple of teaspoons of rose water to it. Leave this mix on the burn for about 15 minutes to draw out the pain and heat and help it to heal faster. This can be repeated as often as required. Any brand of regular fluoridated toothpaste will also draw out heat and give relief from burns.

A paste of sandalwood and turmeric powder with enough olive oil to make it pasty in consistency will heal as well as provide relief. The remedies recommended here provide relief, but they may not heal completely. In such cases, medical help is your best option.
