Natural Exfoliating Facial Scrubs To Soothe Your Skin

Posted in Category : Beauty

The cosmetic industry makes millions of dollars selling innumerable products that promise to give you clear, healthy, soft skin, and the latest trend in beauty products is the use of natural ingredients. In truth, all the skin needs is a good dose of vitamins and minerals for it to maintain its health, and nature is abundant with these vitamins, proteins, and minerals. While a good diet and exercise can go a long way in maintaining beautiful skin, sometimes, we all need a little extra to combat the damage caused by the sun, pollution, and hectic lifestyles. However, buying organic and natural products can take a toll on your wallet and a better option (if you have time) would be to use ingredients straight from your kitchen.

Exfoliation

When it comes to skincare, exfoliation is a very important part of the routine. Exfoliating the face is essential because it removes the dead cells and dirt that clogs the pores, leading to inflammation, infection, and dull skin. Regular exfoliation with a good natural scrub helps in keeping the skin rejuvenated and supple.

Natural Homemade Facial Scrubs

Some popular home remedies for scrubbing your face are as follows.

  • The best natural face scrub is made with oatmeal. Grind raw oats coarsely in a grinder or crumble to small bits and mix one teaspoon of honey and quarter teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. You can add one drop of basil oil or tea tree oil to remove blemishes and blackheads. Rub gently for about five to ten minutes in circular motion and allow it to stay on for fifteen minutes before washing. Another way to use oatmeal is to blend it with banana, milk, and honey. Honey heals the skin, and the potassium in the banana provides vital nutrients. Oatmeal can also be mixed with yoghurt as a natural facial scrub to cleanse the skin. Adding a few crushed mint leaves helps to revitalize the skin.
  • Lemon is another excellent natural facial scrub. It is rich in vitamin C and can be blended with many other ingredients. Lemon juice can be mixed with honey and white or brown sugar to exfoliate the face. Lemon can also be mixed with two teaspoons of chickpea flour, half teaspoon of yoghurt, and honey to make a face scrub. In case your skin is oily, avoid applying yoghurt and instead slice rinds of lemon and sprinkle a little sugar on it and rub gently on the face. In case of burning, add few drops of honey or milk to it.
  • Tomato puree or tomato can be blended with pumpkin and mixed with ground almonds as an effective natural scrub.
  • Coffee and cocoa can be mixed and used as a scrub to brighten dull skin.
