Home Remedies to Get Rid of Bursitis of Elbow

Bursitis is the medical term used for inflammation of the bursa. The bursa is something that resembles a tiny sack of oil at each joint in the body. The primary function of the bursa is to facilitate gliding of the joints they attach. If you are suffering from bursitis of the elbow, it is possible that a sudden or repetitive movement has managed to inflame your bursa. This is not an unusual occurrence. This will help with healing faster. If you are experiencing outward swelling, you can apply ice packs to the area. Ice packs will help, not only to alleviate the swelling but will also provide relief from the pain that generally accompanies the condition.

Avocadoes are extremely helpful in dealing with the problem of bursitis. In particular, avocadoes are known to fight pain as well as replenish any lost oily fluids from any corner and crevice of the body. Another excellent home based remedy is to apply castor oil to the affected area. You can cover the oil with a thin sheet of cloth and use a hot water bag. This way, you will not mistakenly burn yourself, but the heat as well as the oil will go through and act on your inflamed bursa. You can also apply various other things for relief from the pain. A paste of sandalwood powder and rosewater can be applied for soothing relief. This will work better if you are experiencing burning pain. You can also apply cucumber slices to get relief. Since the inflammation caused is accompanied with heat as well, this will be particularly relieving. You should keep in mind that you need to consult a doctor if your condition persists for more than a week, otherwise it may become overly complicated.
