Treatment for Migraine

Acupuncture treatment and acupressure therapy is highly effective in pacifying the pain of migraine. Acupuncture treatment for migraine is different from the typical acupuncture procedure. Migraine pain is supposedly caused by dilation of blood vessels in the head and insertion of needles to manipulate this physiological activity isn’t desirable. As such, experts follow an approach to minimize the activity of blood vessels in the head and neck during a migraine attack.

Migraine is caused by excessive stress that leads to imbalance in the Autonomic Nervous System (AMS). Migraine is also caused by several other factors, including hormonal imbalance. To harmonize the AMS imbalance, there is a special Acupuncture method called SES technique. This technique requires shallow insertion of fine Acupuncture needles restricted only to the dermis of skin. This way of relieving migraine pain is supposed to act on the nervous system, thereby reducing muscle tension. People afflicted with migraines have muscular tension in their neck and upper back, which adversely affects their state of physical well being. As such, it is crucial to cure migraine and acupuncture can have the most beneficial implications in the context.

Migraine treatment can be complemented by other techniques like a controlled and regulated diet. It is advised that migraine afflicted individuals must reduce their intake of caffeine and carbonated drinks. As such, it is recommended not to consume tea or coffee, rather these stimulating drinks may be substituted by green tea. Also, it is advised to stop the consumption of tobacco and alcohol.
