Questions on foul breath

My niece has foul breath even though she maintains good oral hygiene habits. Her bad breath seems to disappear in the summer. She also suffers from enlarged glands when sick. Is there any connection between the two?

Yes. Enlarged glands or chronic tonsillitis is one of the causes for foul breath.

  • Chewing unripe guava is a very healthy option for teeth and gums; it also helps stop bleeding from gums and bad breath.

  • Include consumption of fresh fruits, juices, green vegetables and soups liberally.
  • Chewing mint leaves will also freshen up her breath. Eating apples daily helps in mouth purification too, as it helps remove bacteria causing bad breath.

  • Rinse mouth after every meal, especially before going to bed.
In case she has some holes or tooth decay/cavity, visit a dentist to fix it.
