Almost all people have suffered from bouts of nausea, headache and vomiting at some point or the other, during their lives. Most of us use simple home remedies for vomiting, in case there are no other accompanying symptoms and if the bouts of sickness are not too severe. However, in case you suffer from severe vomiting, it may be best to consult a doctor, not just to get medical vomiting treatment, but also to under the required physical tests, which can rule out the possibility of cyclic vomiting syndrome.
What is cyclic vomiting syndrome?
Cyclic vomiting syndrome is a disorder, which leads to severe bouts of vomiting and nausea, which could last for several days. Studies indicate that this disorder is much more common in children, than it is in adults. In fact, children who are as young as three years old can show cyclic vomiting syndrome symptoms. Fortunately, most children seem to outgrow the problem of cyclic vomiting, as they grow older and approach their teens. Since this disorder has been associated with migraines, children who are suffering from cyclic vomiting syndrome are more likely to develop migraine problems and headache. Therefore, in order to prevent this disorder from spreading and causing any further complications, it is best to use the appropriate cyclic vomiting syndrome treatment options, so that the problem can be controlled.
Children who are suffering from this problem generally have a loss of appetite too, after throwing up. However, it is very important for a child to be given a lot of liquids, to prevent dehydration. It is best to keep the child on a liquid diet for a while, before switching them over to a cyclic vomiting syndrome diet, which consists of light and bland solid foods. Once the vomiting stops the child can resume a normal diet. In addition to dietary changes, cyclic vomiting syndrome treatment also includes getting adequate amounts of rest and sleep during the day.
Home remedies for vomiting and diarrhea
It is very common for people and especially children to suffer from the sensation of vomiting after eating dairy, eggs, fatty foods, fish and greasy food. This is because the child’s digestive system may not be able to process such heavy foods. It is also not uncommon for children to suffer from food intolerance's and allergies, all of which could lead to nausea and vomiting after eating. This is why parents are constantly looking for options on how to stop vomiting. Some of the most commonly used home remedies for vomiting in children include:
