Detoxification of the body The body is often abused by the modern lifestyle, which is high in stress and dietary patterns which include excessive intake of chemically rich products, greasy foods high in fat and cholesterol, sugar, caffeine, nicotine and alcohol which all cause damage to the body. Though the body has its own system of detoxing, it is important to cleanse your body and remove all the toxins from the system at least once in six months in order to restore your body to its original strength and health and to rejuvenate your system. You can choose between a body cleanse or simply cleansing a specific organ, i.
e colon, kidney or liver.
Fasting is the most popular method of cleansing the body, by removing all harmful substances from your diet for a period of a week to a fortnight. This method usually commences with a complete detoxification by way of a purely water diet for the first day, followed a fresh fruit juice and gradual increase to intake of only fresh fruits and vegetables consumed raw.
The diet has to be decided after proper consultation with a doctor in order to decide what is best for your body. The increased water intake flushes all the toxins out from your body and the body absorbs all the essential nutrients from the fresh fruits and vegetables. Exercises, yoga and sauna treatments help to enhance the body cleansing process. Hot and cold water treatments and even enema are used to supplement the cleansing process.

Body detox remedies A body cleanse is a misleading and confusing term, and is a concept that does not really make much sense. The body is well able to keep itself clean — organs such as the liver and kidneys exist in order to clean the body of toxins and other unnecessary substances, which are excreted in our urine and sweat. If you regularly consume harmful substances, an occasional "cleansing" routine is not really going to undo the damage that you have done to your body. The harmful substances have already done their damage and been excreted — at the most what you will achieve is a break for you body, after which the damage will be resumed.
It is therefore best to lead a healthy lifestyle at all times, rather than periodically undertaking doubtful remedies like fruit or juice fasts and enemas. Ensure that your diet is healthy and balanced, with no excess of any substance, even the healthy ones. There should also be no lack of any nutritional element, including fat, which the body needs in some amount in order to function normally. In particular, you should ensure that your diet contains enough fiber and that you drink enough water, as these two substances help the body get rid of its waste effectively.
