Thrush natural remedies
Thrush is a yeast infection caused by the imbalance of Candida Albicans, which is normally kept in control by the bacteria found in the regions favoured by it. Since it grows in moist areas, it is found in the mouth, groins, nappy areas in infants and the nipples of mothers who are breast-feeding. This imbalance of the yeast is caused by consumption of oral contraceptives and steroids or even prolonged illness and other conditions that upset the digestive system.
When the yeast is allowed to grow unchecked, it is found to be accompanied with an increased desire to eat sugar and pasteurised cow's milk products. Thrush can be treated at home, by immediately altering the diet to avoid sugar and refined carbohydrates found in white bread, white rice, pasta, cakes and biscuits. Also avoid over-ripe fruit and dried fruits since their sugar content is quite high.
After some time, fruits such as kiwi and apples should be eaten daily to help correct the imbalance. Consume full fat yoghurt daily since the bacteria in yoghurt can help to restore to balance of bacteria and yeast in your body. Opt for goat and sheep milk instead of cow's milk since the yeast content in considerably lower. Also avoid refined and fried foods and microwave cooking since this weakens the body's immune system. If the infection persists, consult a doctor for adequate treatment.
