Suggest a treatment for redness around the lips and chin.

It is important to isolate and identify the reason for the redness around your lips and chin. Redness in these areas is commonly associated with dry skin, commonly in winter. If that is the case, then regular use of an intensive moisturizer will alleviate the problem. If the dryness is intense, then you could apply Vaseline for quicker results or even some glycerin which you can leave overnight for best results. Sometimes the redness could be due to a rash or an allergy, in which case it is essential to identify the irritant and stop using the product or food immediately. You could run an allergy test to find out what is causing the redness. For immediate relief you can apply ice on the affected areas to reduce the redness and then cover it with make-up (after testing for allergies). Calamine lotion also helps to soothe any irritation of the skin and reduces the redness.

Redness can also be caused due to acne, a very common problem amongst adolescents and young women. To remove the redness caused by acne, dab the affected areas with egg whites and wash it off with cold water once it is dry. The egg whites absorb the bacteria and toxins in the skin, helping to clear the skin, leaving it fresh and clean. You can also apply a wet tea bag all over the affected area. The tea bag will leave behind a brownish residue, which you can leave on the face for 5 to 10 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. The tea, which contains tannin, a natural astringent, absorbs the bacteria causing the redness. When you wash off the tea residue, the redness goes with it.
