Bikram Yoga Poses For Acne and Clear Skin

Posted in Category : Yogic Cures for Diseases

Yoga is an ancient system of health. It combines the body, mind and spirit with the understanding that the ill health of one will impact the good health of another. Whether it is Bikram yoga or any other form of yoga, the poses benefit you. Although Bikram yoga is supposed to have been ‘invented’ by Bikram Chowdry, in reality it is just a sequence of poses that have existed for millennia.

Bikram yoga is a form of yoga that was devised by Bikram Chowdry. Chowdry was a yoga champion in India and was considered one of the best followers of the principle, practicing yoga for around 4 and 6 hours every day. Bikram Yoga involves 26 postures that are performed over 90 minutes in a room heated to 40 degrees C. It is supposedly the heat that allows for easier stretching of muscles and healing.

Yoga Postures which helps in Eradicating Pimples and Acne: There are some questions related to the connection between Bikram yoga and acne. So, does hot yoga cause back acne? There is no proof that yoga (be it hot or cold) causes acne. In fact, when performed correctly yoga flushes the skin of toxins and causes the pores to open and sweat, removing any blockage that is the root cause of acne.

Yoga also restores balance in the system, including hormones that cause acne in teenagers. While there is no one particular yoga pose that will help with acne, performing yoga on a regular basis, helps to clean the skin and leave you both physically and emotionally healthy.

Yoga Poses for Acne due to Hormonal Balance: Hormonal imbalance is a part of life, and starting from teenagers going through puberty to women reaching menopause, hormonal imbalances are something that all of us face. Women tend to suffer more from these imbalances than men and as a consequence also seem to be more affected with pimples. Performing any yoga has health benefits, but there are a few simple postures that are considered very beneficial when it comes to restoring hormonal balance. In women, it is considered that any seated or lying down yoga pose is good while an inverted position is not recommended. Although there is no scientific proof as to why some poses work and others do not, one must realize that a lot of yoga is only anecdotal and traditionally inverted poses were not recommended for women.

Simple poses that can help you lead a healthier as well as acne free life are listed below.

  • Sukhasana (Cross Legged Pose)
  • Anjali Mudra (Salutation Seal)
  • Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend)

These poses are especially good because they target the adrenal and pituitary glands, two of the most important hormone secreting glands in the body. These poses improve blood flow to these glands, encouraging its proper functioning and helping to restore balance.

There are many other poses that can contribute towards restoring hormonal balance, but most of these are specifically targeted at women going through menopause. These poses are general ones that will help anybody having any sort of problems due to hormonal imbalances in their body.
