Healthy Homemade Hair Conditioners

Posted in Category : Beauty

Conditioning your hair is important and a good hair conditioner can do wonders for your hair. You can spend lots of money on hair care products or whip up some at home. Apart from trying some age old hair care recipes, we also suggest that you buy a few good hair products, instead of armloads, and use them religiously.

Home Remedies:

  • First of all, avoid blow drying them too much as hair can become brittle and dry from the excess heat. You might also like to go in for hot oil hair massages to improve the blood circulation in the scalp and nourish your scalp and hair. You can make your own hair oil by mixing coconut oil and olive oil. Heat the oil to the right temperature and ask a massage therapist or a beautician to massage the oil into your scalp.
  • Make sure that your diet comprises healthy fats such as fish oils and omega 3 fatty acids. So have cold-water fish and salmon as well as flaxseeds to improve the texture of your hair and skin. You can even use flaxseed oil for cooking.
  • Too much of mayonnaise might not be good for your health, but a spoonful of it will be good for your hair. Massage it into your hair and cover your head with a plastic cap for some time. Rinse your hair very well with slightly warm but not hot water.
  • You can make a hair moisturizing mask with mashed banana and avocado. Mix the two well and massage the mixture into your hair. Rinse your hair well after an hour.
  • You can make another moisturizing mask by mixing three eggs with two spoonfuls of almond oil, olive oil and a spoonful of apple cider vinegar. This is a good pre-shampoo conditioner. After your apply this pack, wait for half an hour and wash your hair well with a herbal shampoo.
  • You can mix a bit of honey with your shampoo for soft and shiny hair too. However, be careful to rinse your hair well, so that it’s not sticky.
  • You also need to drink a lot of water to keep your hair and body hydrated.
  • Vinegar is a good conditioner for dry hair. Use a spoonful of apple cider vinegar after you complete shampooing your hair and then rinse it off. Your hair will be shiny and more manageable. If you’ve got a color treatment done recently, then this home remedy is not advisable.
  • Use some wheat germ oil instead of your regular conditioner for soft hair.
