Home remedies for deep scars caused by acne

Acne scars are left behind when the acne clears up. Acne is a common skin problem that occurs in a large number of people. It results from an excess production of oil or sebum by the sebaceous glands of the body. This excess oil clogs the skin pores and attracts dead skin cells and dirt. When bacteria infect this debris, an infection occurs. Acne could also occur from the consumption of poor diet, improper hygiene, use of harsh cosmetics and stress. Acne usually occurs in areas of the body such as the face, chest, neck, shoulders and back. Acne scars can be of different types such as atrophic scars, hypertrophic acne and ice pink scars. Some acne scars may be small and easy to remove. Other scars may become permanent and are difficult to get rid of. There are various cosmetic treatments available for getting rid of acne scars. These include laser resurfacing, grafting, dermabrasion and chemical peels. There are also certain medications in the form of topical applications which may be prescribed to heal acne scars.

Many people opt for natural remedies or home remedies for acne scars. This is because home remedies for acne scars are known to be safer than other methods and also result in fewer side effects. One of the best home remedies for diet is to keep a check on your diet and always consume healthy foods. Oily and spicy food should be avoided. It is also important to drink plenty of water so that the skin remains hydrated and toxins are flushed out of the body. The areas that are prone to acne should be kept clean at all times to prevent bacterial infection. The face must be washed with anti-bacterial cleanser at least twice a day. It also helps to steam the face so that the pores are unclogged and dirt and bacteria are removed. As part of your home remedies for acne scars one should also avoid touching the face as this can cause spread of dirt and germs. Use of harsh cosmetics must also be avoided. Home remedies for acne scars involve the use of simple ingredients which are usually easily available at home. Lime juice serves as a natural bleaching agent and may be applied to the scars to lighten them. Acne scar treatment at home can also be done using a mixture of sandalwood and rosewater. Tomatoes help to prevent increased production of oil and tomato slices may be applied to the face to prevent further occurrence of acne. Tomato juice also helps to lighten acne scars.

Acne scarring may occur due to a variety of factors. acne is produced on the skin due to an over production of sebum or oil. The body attempts to target the resulting inflammation with white blood cells. After the inflammation subsides, the tissue may still need to be repaired fully. As a result scar tissues are left on the skin. Marks from scarring may take seven months to two years to disappear completely. There are two types of acne scarring, one of which is hypertrophic scarring which causes growth of tissue. Here, excess collagen is produced and large outgrowths may be caused in severe cases. The other type of scarring is atrophic scarring, which causes a loss of tissue. This is the more common type of scarring. There are several types of atrophic scarring such as atrophic molecules, which are small bluish-white skin discolorations that are less visible than the other types of scarring; depressed fibrotic scars which are large, depressed and jagged valleys on the skin surface; follicular macular atrophy which are small and slightly raised lesions that look like whiteheads; ice-pick scars which are less severe versions of fibrotic scars; and soft scars which are small, gentle scar-like depressions in the skin.

There are many effective home remedies that you can use to get rid of acne scars. vitamin E oil may be applied to the scarred areas. This will cause the scars to fade over time. You may also apply a paste of sandalwood and rose water on the scars and leave it overnight. If the skin tends to become dry with this, leave it on only for a few hours or try adding a bit of milk to the paste. Applying lemon juice or a mix of cucumber and tomato juice on the scars is also effective. You can also try applying mashed garlic cloves onto the skin for about 15 minutes. An effective remedy for scars which also acts as an inexpensive moisturizer is warm honey that can be massaged into the skin. Applying egg white to the acne scars is also known to be effective. You could also mix oatmeal powder with rose water and apply to the affected areas for 15 minutes. Oatmeal works by closing the open pores as well as clearing up the scars. It must be noted that these remedies may take a certain period of time to produce results, therefore patient and continuous use is required.
