I want to slow down my flow from my period. I don't get it for a few months at a time and when I get it is very heavy.

You have not mentioned how old you are or how long you have been having your menstrual periods. In the first few years of the menstrual cycle women generally complain of irregular and heavy periods. If you have been suffering from this problem for some time perhaps you should visit the doctor. The doctor will be able to examine you and determine what requires to be done to help you.

Irregular periods are usually linked to stress, an irregular lifestyle, anemia and a bad diet. You should ensure that you eat meals on time. What is more your food should be balanced and in the right quantities. Drinking plenty of milk, eating eggs and fruits, fruits juices is necessary. You should eat meat, eggs, fish and vegetables. Vegetables can be eaten raw and you should avoid drinking too much coffee or tea. Foodstuffs that have white flour, refined sugar and oil should be avoided. You should learn to relax and should try to practice some relaxation techniques. Adequate rest is equally important so you should ensure that you get enough sleep each night. You can also squeeze half a lemon into half a cup of milk and drink it quickly, before it spoils. This can be drunk at least thrice a day.
