Living with Ovarian Cancer

Living with ovarian cancer can be extremely daunting and challenging. Even early detection with a promise of a complete recovery can be overwhelming. Here are some methods you can use to make dealing with cancer easier.

  • Keep yourself well informed about all aspects of your disease and its treatment. Understanding more about your disease and choice of treatment will help you in deciding the best course of action. The National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society are good places to gather information about ovarian cancer.
  • Discuss your options freely with your physician, family and other people who support you. Find someone to talk to and share your feelings with. You can consider joining a support group in your area. Support groups for families of people with cancer are also available.
  • Set reasonable goals with regard to your work and daily activity and above all, maintain a positive frame of mind.
