Prognosis of Cushing Syndrome

A prognosis of Cushing Syndrome will depend on the cause of the disease. Most of the cases of Cushing Syndrome can be cured. People with hormonal disorders show a lot of improvement with the treatment, although some complications can arise. Some of the complications include:

  • Serious infections may lead to secondary infections.
  • Kidney stones from raised cortisol levels and other chemicals that go through the kidneys.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Fractures because of osteoporosis.
  • Pituitary gland becoming enlarged.
  • Diabetes (low or high levels of glucose in the blood).
