Treatments for Breast Cancer

Depending on the age of the patient and the extent of the spread of the cancer, the risks and benefits of the different types of treatments of breast cancer are considered before making any decision. Generally, women with breast cancer have a combination of treatments such as radiation therapy, hormone therapy, chemotherapy, monoclonal antibody therapy and / or surgery. If these treatments are successful and there is no detectable cancer, patients are often given additional or adjuvant therapy to prevent the cancer from recurring.
