Arteriosclerosis Hypertension Causes & Home Remedy

Arteriosclerosis and hypertension are closely related as the latter generally leads to the former. Hypertension or blood pressure refers to pressure exerted by circulating blood on the walls of the blood vessels. Blood pressure may rise from the normal level due to several factors like neurological conditions, cardiovascular or urological disorders and psychological factors like stress or anger.

Arteriosclerosis, on the other hand, is referred to as an unceasing cardiac condition, characterized by the blockage of major pathways of the heart (the arteries), which ultimately causes hindrance in the blood carrying capacity of the vascular system of the human body.

Arteriosclerosis is caused by a number of factors, including increased blood pressure, especially when increased blood pressure or hypertension is caused by an excessive level of cholesterol in the body. As such, you must control the cholesterol levels in the body to avert the symptoms of hypertension and thereby, arteriosclerosis.

There are many home remedies to cure hypertension and arteriosclerosis, some of which are as follows:

  • Include a lot of green leafy vegetables in your diet, as they are low in calorie content and are rich in vitamins and minerals. Vegetables like broccoli, celery, carrot and cabbage must also be included as a part of a diet for hypertension and arteriosclerosis.
  • Fruits like strawberries, cranberries, tangerines, papayas, peaches, cantaloupe, mangoes, pineapples, peaches, cantaloupe, raspberries, and honeydew are rich in essential vitamins and minerals. Also, these fruits helps burn your excessive fats, thereby protecting you from several other heart ailments.
  • You must restrict the intake of sodium in your diet. As such, you must not consume foods with excessive salt. It is strictly prohibited for you to eat canned and processed foods on account of their high sodium content for preservation purposes.
  • You must also check your intake of complex carbohydrates like maltose, fructose, and sucrose.
  • You must drink a lot of water as water helps in dissolving excessive body fats, thereby minimizing the chances of hypertension and arteriosclerosis.
  • Along with these dietary alterations, you must also follow a regular exercising regimen. Lack of physical activity is also the cause of these ailments and a regular workout is an effective way to treat hypertension and arteriosclerosis.

You are also advised to consult a doctor so that you can take proper medication to ensure that the condition doesn’t worsen. Sometimes, these ailments may lead to coronary attacks and so you must consult a doctor for medical advice and treatment.
