Water clogged ears is a very common problem in people, especially after they go swimming or get water into their ears in any way. This feeling can be compared to the muffled sounds that you may hear, when you are under water. It can be quite discerning to feel that something is blocking your ear and it is therefore only natural for you to want to unblock it immediately. One of the factors that could cause the water to get trapped in your ear is the buildup of ear wax. However, poking the ear repeatedly, with your finger or a cotton bud is not the most effective blocked ears treatment and can in fact cause more harm to your ear. Therefore, it is best for you to opt for a clogged ears remedy to first remove the wax that you can easily find at home.

Hydrogen peroxide is usually regarded as the most effective clogged ears remedy by several people. Take a sterile eye dropper and fill it with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide. Lie down on a couch with one ear facing upwards and pour a few drops of hydrogen peroxide into your ear. If you hear a bubbling sound in your ear, don't get alarmed as it is absolutely normal. You need to wait till the bubbling sound totally subsides, which could take around 30 seconds or so. Once the bubbling stops, flip your head over on a towel or a piece of cloth, so that the hydrogen peroxide flows out, taking pieces of the ear wax with it. Then a few drops of rubbing alcohol should be poured into the ear, to dry the liquid out. You can repeat the same steps with your other ear.

Olive oil is another effective clogged ears remedy that can easily be found at home. Warm a small amount of olive oil and pour a drop or two into your ear. This will dissolve the ear wax instantly, allowing any trapped water to flow out. You can tilt your head sideways, so that the oil, water and wax flow out easily. Finally you need to rinse your ear with some warm water, before repeating this exercise with your other ear. In case the water clogged ears do not get unblocked even after using a clogged ears remedy, it may be best for you to consult an ear specialist, as soon as possible. You may be suffering from a problem that is a bit more serious, for which you may need to undergo proper medical swimmers ear treatment.
