What happens to bodies if proper hygiene is not used?

Bad personal hygiene can not only make a person look and smell bad, it can also drive away friends and partners. Improper hygiene can also cause health problems and infections.

Some of the outward signs of bad hygiene include foul smelling breath, dirty finger and toe nails, matted or un-styled hair, yellow teeth, dirty clothes and body odor. While these signs are repulsing as well as unhealthy, the good news is that one can improve personal hygiene with just a little bit of care and practice.

Hygiene tips:

  • You can improve your hygiene by first looking at yourself in the mirror and trying to figure out where you can begin in this endeavor. There will be plenty of outward signs that will give you a cue as to where to start your hygiene regimen from.
  • Visit a salon or a barber and get a good haircut. You might also like to get your hair washed and ask the stylist for hair care tips to keep your hair clean, styled and lice-free.
  • Buy a good cleanser and make sure to clean your face regularly. Grime and sweat will only add to your acne problem and won't do a thing for your looks.
  • Body odor? Take a shower and use good quality bath soaps and gels to wash all that grime and sweat off your body. Use talcum powder and a good deodorant to keep yourself sweat-free and smelling sweet. Make sure that you bathe regularly, at least twice a day in summer and once during winters. Use a damp wash cloth if it's too chilly or if you've just come back after a long, hot day. Clean the build up of sweat and dead cells regularly to prevent body odor and acne.
  • Consult a dentist for dental hygiene tips. Brush your teeth twice a day, use a good mouthwash and floss your teeth. Chew on cooling mints to keep your breath sweet through the day.
  • Wear fresh clothes and wash your dirty clothes regularly. Be sure to change your underwear and socks.
  • It's important to pay attention to personal hygiene. Women must wash their genitals externally and avoid douches. During menstruation, change your pads regularly and wash your hands every time you do so. To prevent Urinary Tract Infections, try urinating after sexual intercourse - this helps to flush out the bacteria in the bladder and urethra. Men must pull back their foreskin when cleaning themselves
  • And of course, wash your hands regularly. This will prevent germs from entering your body.
