Thread worm and pregnancy

Does thread worm affect pregnancy?
(11 May 2007)

Some of the drug treatments for thread worm are contra-indicated during the first trimester of pregnancy.  The worms, themselves, may enter the vaginal cavity, and cause tissue irritation.  The discomfort and irritation may be difficult to tolerate for the mother.
