I've been having a lot of leg ache, esp. behind my knees. I am noticing more spider veins also. Do you have any suggestions?

One of the natural remedies for spider veins is to take up regular exercising in the form of running or walking which is known to improve the blood circulation and strengthen the veins.  Natural remedies for spider veins also include elevating your legs as often as possible to avoid excessive pressure on the legs or even crossing your legs while sitting. Consuming the herbal extract of the ginkgo Biloba herb at least thrice a day is also known to be one of the best treatments for spider veins. The ginkgo biloba herb is very effective in improving circulation, promoting oxygenation of the tissues and also helps in strengthening the tissues that form the walls of the veins.

Similarly another one of the natural remedies for spider veins is to apply some witch hazel extract on the affected area on the legs frequently during the day resulting in the spider veins diminishing over time. Horse chestnut is yet another excellent natural herbal remedy which helps in enabling the veins to regain their elasticity thereby minimizing the occurrence of spider veins. Apple cider vinegar is also an effective natural remedy for spider veins that is used to treat varicose veins as it increases the circulation of blood thereby minimizing the appearance of spider veins.

Is there any way of preventing spider veins?

One of the best ways for preventing spider veins is to ensure that you walk on a regular basis as walking is a very good exercise for the legs that improves the blood circulation. Similarly as far as possible for preventing spider veins you should also not stand stationery in one place for a prolonged period of time. Additionally while treating spider veins, you should also ensure that the salt intake is limited and that you follow a diet that is high in fiber. This is essential because fiber helps in preventing constipation that is known to result in spider veins and varicose veins. Similarly, a high intake of salt is also known to result in water retention and swelling of the legs. Vitamins C, E and K are also known to be beneficial while treating spider veins. While treating spider veins in case of women, they should also be advised against wearing high heels as this in turn tends to restrict the flow of blood from the leg back into the heart. Preventing spider veins is also possible if one maintains the ideal body weight as excessive body weight may put undue pressure on the circulatory system lading to the condition.
