The nervous system is used to transmit information to and from the brain. Some of this information is related to the sensations experienced by the various cells in the body. This information relies on the efficient passage of electrical signals in the body.

When the body’s nervous system is damaged, there could be different conditions that could arise. One of the common conditions is the burning feet syndrome. Naturally, one may experience burning in the feet if there is physical damage to the skin. However, if this is not the case, the individual is most likely suffering from a condition known as peripheral neuropathy.

This condition occurs when the nerve signals are blocked by some physical damage or some degenerative condition. In many cases, this is the first symptom of a wider problem that develops slowly over a period of time. Peripheral neuropathy is a progressive condition in itself. The sensation may gradually appear and, over time, become a permanent feature of the day for the individual. This condition would also result in other parts of the body developing sudden shooting or burning pains. When this condition occurs, it is important that the individual seeks immediate medical attention so as to avoid further complications.

Very commonly simple problems like ill fitting shoes or tiredness in the feet can also cause a burning sensation in the feet. How can I treat burning feet symptoms at home?

The nervous system is designed to pass sensory information from various parts of the body to the brain and back. These signals are passed through nerves that conduct electrical signals to and from the brain. When the nerves are damaged or blocked, it could lead to abnormal signals being passed to and from the various parts of the body. One of the common problems associated with this situation is burning feet.

Apart from burning feet symptoms, one might also experience temporary numbness, pins and needles or sudden shooting pain from the affected area. These symptoms may be so great that they do not allow the individual to sleep well at night. The symptoms are a sign of damage to the nervous system which needs to be addressed as soon as possible. In some cases, this may be due to a reversible injury or due to an infection which can be cured. It is important to seek immediate medical aid when struck with this problem. This will help to prevent the further development of the condition. Most nerve related conditions can be slowed or stopped if not reversed. Thus an individual with burning feet symptoms must visit his or her doctor for an immediate analysis. There are no at home treatments for burning feet syndrome and medical assistance is necessary.

Is there a cure for burning feet at night?

Burning feet at night is mainly the result of circulatory disorders which can cause a reddening and burning sensation in the feet. Some people experience mild burning sensation while for others it may be more severe. One of the instant cures for burning feet is to soak the feet in cold water for at least 15-20 minutes to relieve the burning sensation. It is important to keep in mind that the water should not be ice cold.

In cases where the burning sensation is caused by vitamin deficiencies, including plenty of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables in the daily diet would be a good remedy. These foods are rich in vital vitamins and minerals which can help cure this condition. Foods such as milk, yogurt, eggs, beans and whole grains are rich in vitamin B3 which can be helpful in treating burning feet. Regular intake of B-vitamin supplements is also very helpful in curing burning feet. Herbs like gingko biloba are very effective for treating burning feet at night as they help in improving the circulation in the feet and also reduce the heat. Other herbs like thistle, dandelion and grape seed are some of the other natural cures for burning feet.

It is not possible for me to determine the cause of your condition without a more detailed history and examination.  However, you may get some symptom relief from homeopathic Lachesis in a low potency and look at possible dietary links.
