Sesame oil for dry scalp treatment

Most oils that are used for cooking can also be used for the hair. Coconut oil and olive oil are two major examples - the same coconut oil or olive oil that is used for cooking can be applied to the hair, and the same goes for sesame oil. You only need to ensure that there are no additives in the oil, as there is a chance that they may not be good for the hair or they may not give you the effect you are looking for.

Is there any particular reason why you intend to use sesame oil for your hair? Any oil is good for the hair, but olive oil and, in particular, coconut oil are the best. Coconut oil penetrates the individual hair fibers much better than any other oil, and is therefore much more effective. More than any other oil, coconut oil helps hair to retain moisture, and also prevents protein loss.

One thing you should remember when you apply oil is that it needs to be washed off thoroughly. Apart from the smell and the tendency to attract more dust and dirt, leaving oil on your hair and scalp can upset the natural production of oil by the sebaceous glands on your scalp.
