Blocked ears could mean that there is a pressure imbalance in your ears or that the wax in your ears is impairing your ability to hear properly. Usually, the former problem is a cause of worry, as it would indicate that you might have an inflammation in your middle ear or that you have an inflammation of your respiratory tract.
Removing wax from the ear is a simple technique that sometimes requires no intervention at all because there is a natural process that takes care of it.
The body removes wax by moving older ear wax away from the eardrum in an assembly line of wax secretion. Wax that is created near the eardrum is pushed forward by the movement of the jaw as a consequence of activities like eating and chewing. In the place of the wax that has been displaced, new wax is formed and the old is pushed further until it reaches the outer edge of the ear. It is then removed as a result of bathing or as a result of the wax drying out and falling away. Intervention is sometimes required in this process as the wax can be stuck along its way out. Since a major constituent of earwax is cholesterol which is fat and oil soluble, it can be displaced by adding oil to the ear. This can be done by pouring some warm olive oil into your ears and letting it sit in your ear for some time. Another more aggressive method is to use hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide will also destroy some of the old dead skin in the ear as well as clear out any infections that might be present in your ears. After any of these applications, force a gentle stream of warm water into your ear as this will displace any further wax that is built up in the ear. Use a blow dryer at a distance to dry out your ear completely. Make sure that you keep your dryer on low heat only.
If the blocked ear is caused by a pressure imbalance then there is a chance that there is an inflammation in the ear or the nose and throat causing excessive mucus production. Combat this by increasing your intake of water that will make the mucus more fluid and amenable to draining away. In addition, increase your intake of garlic and ginger. Garlic is a natural antimicrobial and ginger is a natural decongestant for the respiratory system. Both of these works from within the body and are not like a topical application. Steam inhalations are also useful by moisturizing the mucus increasing their viscosity.

Blocked ear natural remedies You can unclog your ears in any number of ways, all of which depend upon the reason your ears are clogged. A clogged ear due to an infectious cold or an excess of mucus deposits can be dealt with by pouring a few drops of warm Doctor's Brandy in your ear and letting it stay there for about 10 minutes. If you have excess mucus deposits or a cold bothering you, the brandy will clear it up. All you have to do is turn your head the other way for it to drain out, along with the excess fluids.
If you have too many waxy or dry deposits, put a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in your ear and let it stand for a while. You will hear it working towards clearing the blockage. You can drain the peroxide and then use a swab to clean up anything left over. If this does not work efficiently, try to insert a few drops of diluted vinegar – equal parts of vinegar and water – and let it stand. You will hear a crackling sound which will indicate this is working. This will clear up the blockage after one or two uses. You can also put a few drops of freshly squeezed lime juice in the ear. This will also help you to clean the ear.
