Home Remedies For Cold Related Earache: Ears Feel As Though I Have Been Flying In An Airplane And Have Not Popped! Presently Have A Cold And Pressure On Sinus Passages.

Natural Treatment for Cold related Earache

An infection or inflammation of the sinus passages invariably affects the ears. It is a common occurrence amongst those who suffer from sinus related colds and maladies. One extremely common complaint that reveals the cause of cold related earache is the buildup of fluids in the Eustachian tubes. The passage that connects the back of your throat to your middle ear is known as the Eustachian tube. When this passage gets blocked due to colds, fluids gather in that area thus causing a earache and a blocked plugged-like experience that makes you hear dull voices and muffled sounds.

If you are frequent air traveler, try chewing gum to balance the air pressure in your ears. Also yawn as much as possible to shrink back the muscles that contract the Eustachian tubes. Keep a hot water bottle or a heat pad close to your ears when you feel the onset of pain or discomfort. Keep taking deep breaths from the diaphragm inhaling though the nose. Take a 15 minute break to conduct the breathing exercise. Close your eyes and breathe in as deep as you can from your nose feeling the diaphragm expand and contract as you do so. This will help the ears to clear up and make you relaxed.
