Sore throats can be caused by a variety of bacteria and sometimes they occur because of sudden weather changes too. The best remedy for a sore throat is to cut out all cold water and gargle with a salt water rinse three times a day. But if you experience symptoms like fever, and itchy poky sensation in your throat along with a stuffed feeling while swallowing, it's best to get to checked immediately with a doctor. A streptococcal infection of the throat can be severely painful and will require antibiotics immediately. Other than that here are a few home remedies which you can use to soothe you sore throat.

Few home remedies on sore throat-
  • Dilute cayenne pepper as required and rinse two or three times a day .Remember to cover your lips with a thin coating of Vaseline or you could have constant burning lips
  • You can try to suck with the clove to try and make your sore throat to better.
  • You can try a home made lozenge using a homemade remedy of the following ingredients, having a little licorice, marshmallow, red raspberry leaves, cayenne pepper, scented essential oil of geranium, sage or rosemary and honey. Mix well and use to form a lozenge which can be used to soothe an irritated throat.
