Home Remedies for Irregular Menstruation

Irregular or missed periods can be caused due to different factors but the common factor is some hormonal disturbances in women.  Try the following simple home remedies to regularize your menstrual flow:

• Asafetida is known since ages to help regularize menstruation. It helps to increase the secretion of the female hormone, progesterone.
  
  
  Heat a tsp of clarified butter and fry ¼ tsp of asafetida in it for few seconds. Add this to buttermilk or a soup and drink daily.
  
• Drink a glass of fresh carrot juice daily for 3 months.
  
  
  This is a very effective remedy to regularize your periods.
• Take an infusion of ginger sweetened with sugar or honey, this remedy often helps to regularize menstrual periods.
  
• Fenugreek and sesame seeds play important role in regularizing menses. Add fenugreek sprouts and sesame seeds in your vegetables, breads or salads to incorporate at least 2 teaspoons daily in your diet.
  
• Mix a tsp of dry mint powder with 1 tsp honey and take this thrice daily to regularize menstruation.
  
• Have a diet rich in protein and iron foods and avoid consuming refined, processed and junk foods as far as possible. Other foods which would be helpful to regularize menstruation are white pumpkin, papaya, dates, drumstick, snake gourd, bitter gourd and cucumber.
