Do you know of any treatment for 'Catarrh' (continuous thick mucus discharge)?

What you are experiencing is known as catarrh, which basically involves nasal discharge and blockage of the nose caused by swelling of the mucus membranes. This is actually not a disease or medical condition itself, but a symptom of some other disease or medical condition. Most often it is a symptom of the common cold, but it also sometimes accompanies other conditions, such as a sinus infection, a ear infection, tonsillitis, and some allergies.

In the case of the common cold, you can simply use some home remedies to ease the blockage and discharge, but an allergy or some other infection may require medical treatment. Since you haven't mentioned any other symptoms, it is not clear what you are suffering from.

To ease catarrh, steam inhalation and a home made saline nasal spray or drops are the best. Pour hot water in a basin and inhale the steam — if you like, you can put a few drops of eucalyptus oil to the water. To prepare a saline solution, simply add a teaspoon of salt to a glass of water. You can either spray this solution into your nose or put a few drops in at a time, every hour or so.
