Alternative cure for treating mastoiditis Very sorry to hear about the pain. Mastoiditis infections are usually caused by a middle ear infection or what is known in medical terms as otitis media. In serious cases, the bone itself may get infected.
The thumb rule with ear infections is that if they are accompanied by fever or have not receded within a week, you need to see a doctor and get a course of antibiotics. If the infection is not too severe, it makes sense to let your body fight it and develop immunity to any further infection.
In your case, I would advise talking to your primary health care giver at once because you don't want to take the risk of suffering any permanent damage. That said, I am listing some immediate pain relief options below:
- Making up your own mullein oil takes time and you are already in severe pain. so I would suggest that you get commercial Mullein oil and warm a few drops in a water bath and pour them into your aching ear. This is very effective for ear pain
- You can also make up some garlic oil by a simple process at home. All you have to do is crush a few gloves of garlic and add then to some olive oil. Heat this mixture on a low flame for about 30 minutes and pour a few drops into your ear.
Here are some ways to prevent future ear infections and mastoiditis.
- Consume a teaspoon or two of xylitol ( a plant based sugar) every day. This is a natural antiviral and antibiotic
- Use nasal spray containing xylitol whenever you have a cold to prevent an ear infection
- Take an Echinacea Purpurea supplement to boost your immunity.
Practice all of these remedies in the long term, but for now please see your primary health care provider immediately.
