Libido is nothing but an individual’s sexual desire or sexual drive. While a man’s libido is basically a physiological reaction or response towards stimuli; a woman’s libido is far more intricate and complicated. Generally, the female libido tends to fluctuate over the years.
This pattern is considered to be normal. But with increasingly prominent, as a result of which women generally lose interest in sex much more often as well as for longer durations of time. A reduction in sexual drive is brought about mainly due to a reduction in the level of 2 hormones; testosterone and estrogen. However, there are additional factors that also contribute towards this loss or reduction. Fatigue, depression, stress, lack of self confidence, conflicts in relationships etc. can all lead to a diminished sex drive.
Here are few natural ways to increase your sexual drive. Oysters are the best known aphrodisiacs. Eating raw oysters will help to great degree. Scrub the oyster shells in order to get rid of any bacteria and dirt. Once they have been cleaned well, open the shells and keep them on ice. Eating 2-3 raw oysters will definitely help in increasing your drive. Avocados are also known to be useful when it comes to increasing sexual drive. They are rich in potassium, vitamin B6 and folic acid, all of which play a crucial part in the female sex drive. The folic acid will help in metabolizing protein, while vitamin B6 will increase the testosterone levels and potassium will help in regulating the thyroid gland. This will all help in improving the sex drive. Consume more asparagus. They contain Vitamin E which mainly helps in stimulating the making of sex hormones.
Eating 2 bananas daily will also help considerably. They contain vitamin B and potassium, which again help in producing the sex hormones. Bananas are also good for increasing one’s energy levels. Make figs a part of your daily diet. They contain amino acids that will not only help in increasing your sex drive, but will also increase your sexual stamina. Snacking on celery during the day will also help. They contain an odorless hormone known as androsterone. This particular hormone is released in male perspiration and is believed to turn women on. Finally try and keep your mind stress free, relax your mind, this will work wonders as well. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water, as this will keep your body hydrated and improve blood circulation.

One of the primary reasons at the beginning of your sex life could be a bad or dissatisfying sexual experience, which has marked your barometer for sex altogether. This knowledge can be gleaned from a doctor or sexual counsellor, who will be able to guide you correctly. Among other psychological reasons for low sexual libido could also be boredom, acute depression, anxiety, nervousness, lack of energy, stress and so on. There are certain simple changes you can make to your lifestyle in order to improve your general health and well being, which would always lead to a more satisfying and sexually fulfilled life. Include a daily exercise session. Exercise releases “happy hormones” known as endorphins into your blood stream and these will help you to be more upbeat. You can also switch to food that is lighter on the system, so that you do not feel generally lethargic. Some of the foods that are known to have some element of aphrodisiac value are strawberries, bananas, chocolates, figs and oysters.
