I have a throat problem which is that at night or early morning or when I do yoga like kapalbhanti I start getting cough. This has become a regular feature. I want to get rid of it completely. pl help me.



If you have a problem with coughing at night and in the mornings, it would appear that you have a chronic cold. You would need a double approach to your treatment in this case, as you have to get rid of your cold as well as stop the coughing. If you take care of the former, the latter will subside over a period of time. But there are ways you can work on both problems. Onions will help you with the cold, since they are well known for their property of loosening phlegm. Grapes are also a very good expectorant and will clear up your lungs. Warm carrot juice is a well-known remedy for clearing up cough. A teaspoon each of ginger juice and honey mixed and taken about four times a day will help loosen mucus as well.

If you are suffering from the problem of breaking out into a cough every time you do Kapalbhaarti, then you must not do this particular exercise while you are undergoing treatment. Try to clear up your cough and then start with it again. A pinch of freshly ground black pepper mixed with a teaspoon each of honey and lime juice will help considerably to reduce cough. An herbal tea with aniseed, peppercorns, holy basil and ginger can be sipped while hot.
